Horse riding on the coastal cordillera hills. Snack. Starts Santiago. PDF Print E-mail
Cruise Ships - Pre/Post tour options

Our journey starts from Santiago Airport or hotel from where we travel north west towards the Puchuncaví valley, famous for its rural traditions, Chilean horses and stunning landscapes close to the Pacific Ocean (“where the countryside meets the sea”).

Once at our small holding “El Quisco” located at the foot of the coastal hills in the El Rincón Valley, we receive the initial guidance and safety instructions required for the mounted excursion. Once the horses have been assigned and under the guidance of our local expert we start to climb a ridge leading into some Sclerophilic woodland, habitat to specially adapted plants and animals for Mediterranean scrub woodland.  After some time on the slopes you will see a magnificent view down towards the beaches of Maitencillo and the surrounding areas.

We will stop along the way to visit an old copper mine which still has relics of its history and the mined minerals taken using traditional methods over many years.

From here we continue to the small village of Rincón where we will see traditional agricultural production methods and ancient adobe houses. Here we will also have a well earned snack to recover some energy before starting the final climb into the Sclerophilic woodland.
On arrival to the village of San Antonio we will see an old irrigation lagoon – a good place to see local birdlife before meeting our support transport to continue to Valparaíso via the coastal road to Viña del Mar, ending at the Passenger Cruise Terminal in time to board the cruise ship in the afternoon.
